James Lewis


James qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in 2000 and has since focused on mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings. Initially in the London offices of Deutsche Bank and CSFB focusing on UK M&A, he then joined Deloitte and became Co‐Head of the PLC Advisory team in 2012 before moving to RSM as a partner in the M&A and Private Equity team in 2016.

Since 2006 James has focused on small/mid‐cap corporate finance advisory roles advising companies (UK and international) and private equity firms on Takeover Code transactions, general M&A and strategic reviews. He also has significant experience in capital markets transactions (capital fundraisings and IPOs) and debt for equity restructurings of public companies acting on both the Company and lender side of transactions.

James joined Cairn in April 2018 and brings a wealth of experience from advising clients on general and PLC M&A, hostile and recommended takeovers as well as significant IPO experience. He has completed almost 50 transactions during his career.

Recent deal credentials include; the IPOs of Incanthera and The British Honey Company to Aquis, the £224m acquisition of Supply@ME by Abal Group, the recommended offer for Innovise Limited by Team Software Inc., the £42m recommended offer for InterBulk Group plc by Den Hartogh Group N.V and the £220m acquisition of Spearhead International by Paine & Partners LLC.
